CYF Committees

CYF Committees bring post-secondary students who value French together around specific interests.

No matter what your interest is, CYF wants to create a committee for you.

In advance of the 2024 virtual convention, we’re launching four committees. Learn more about each of them below.

COMMITTEE GUIDELINES

In the coming years, we plan to have many student-led committees around subjects that they’ve chosen.

Here are some of our Committee Guidelines:

  • Committees must be formed with a clear and specific purpose or thematic focus aligned with CYF's mission to promote the French language and culture among Canadian youth.

  • Committees should consist of at least three members, including a chairperson, and may include members from different regions and backgrounds.

  • Committees are expected to hold at least 5 meetings over the course of the academic year, either online or in-person, if within the capacity of its members.

  • Committees are encouraged to make decisions through a collaborative and consultative process, ensuring the inclusion of diverse perspectives.

  • Committees can apply for funding through the national organization to support their initiatives.
