PAST CYF EVENTS
We’ve created lasting connections between students and gained powerful insights to help shape the direction of our growing organization. The future is bright for CYF and post-secondary students who value French!
1st Annual Convention - In 2022, CYF brought together post-secondary students from around the country. In smaller focus groups, students were overwhelmingly in support of a national organization that exists to support post-secondary students who want to learn or maintain their French while studying in university or college.
2nd Annual Convention - In 2023, many participants from CYF’s 1st Annual Convention were amongst those who joined us to hear from various experts such as Dr Stephen Krashen, one of the world’s most-cited linguists, the Hon James Moore, former Minister of Canadian Heritage, and linguistic insecurity experts Ahdithya Visweswaran and Janie Moyen. Participants also discussed common values, beliefs and activities that they would like to see CYF and CYF clubs organize on their behalf.
3rd Annual Convention - The 2024 Annual CYF Convention connected passionate students across Canada through Committee Discussions on Education, Health Sciences, Business, and Political Sciences. The Convention marked an important milestone with the launch of our fourth organizational pillar—CYF Points—an innovative system that rewards student engagement in the Francophone community, complementing our established pillars of CYF Clubs, Committees, and our annual Convention.
